A Garden That Nourishes the Body... and Grows Values
At Fundación Anepal, we continue to plant opportunities for our children, and this time we've done so quite literally: we have built our own garden within the orphanage.
What began as a small empty space intended for a rooftop terrace is now a space full of life, colors, and hope. In it, we grow vegetables such as spinach, tomatoes, cabbage, carrots, and other greens that will be integrated into the children's daily meals. Thanks to this garden, we can offer healthier, fresher meals at no additional cost.
But this project goes far beyond producing food. The children themselves are responsible for caring for the garden: they water, clean, plant, learn to wait for nature's timing, and get excited with each new sprout. Through this work, they develop fundamental values such as collaboration, responsibility, and commitment to the foundation's projects.
Each seed planted becomes a lesson in effort. Each shared task reinforces teamwork. Each harvest celebrated strengthens their self-esteem and sense of belonging.
This garden is, at the same time, an educational tool, a source of sustainable nutrition, and a space where dreams, learning, and futures flourish.
Thanks to the support of those who believe in our mission, today we not only nourish bodies... we also cultivate values that will last a lifetime.
